Harajuku Girls and children going to Meiji Shrine, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. Harajuku, just north of Shibuya, became famous in the 1990's due to the large numbers of street performers and wildly dressed teens who gathered there on Sunday when the streets were closed to traffic. Punk style, visual kei, rockabilly dancers, performers and cosplay (anime dressed) always meet on Sundays near the Yoyogi Park and Meiji Shrine Park entrances.
