French police check 'survey-scam' roma close to the Pont-Neuf subway entrance. Usually operating in small groups along the Seine River and in Opera district, roma teenagers simulate hearing impairment and muteness to ask to tourists for signing a petition, then try to extort money. Some take advantage of distraction to open bags and pick pockets, using paperboard and accomplices to hide their steal. Paris, France, November 1st, 2014.
