Nakamise is a street between the Kaminari-mon Gate and the Hozomon Gate, Asakusa. Both sides of the 100m street are lined with about 90 stores (sweets, restaurants, Edo goods, soft toys). Asakusa is the part of Tokyo most famous for the Sensoji. There is also an above-average density of temples in nishi-(west)-Asakusa. As the name suggests, the area has a less frenetic and more traditionally Japanese atmosphere than other neighbourhoods of Tokyo.
