Coming from Imabary City, the First bridge of the Shimanami Sea Route (or Seto-uchi Shimanami-Kaido - highway above sea) is the Kurushima Kaikyo Bridge, with 6 Km and and 60m high, linking Shikoku to Oshima island. Shimanami Sea Route runs between the city of Imabari, in the north-west of Shikoku Island, and Onomichi, spaning the Inland Sea with 10 large and small bridges stepping over 6 islands. Because its 77 Km of cycling way runing along the motor road and the scenic landscapes it offers, the road is very popular all over Japan.
