Shuoshi Mizuhara Memorial, Kusatsu, Gunma prefecture, Japan. Next to the Baelz bust there is a tablet inscribed with haiku by Shuoshi Mizuhara, a great benefactor of Kusatsu. The memorial was donated by the chairman of the English-Japanese Medical Society Dr. Ishibashi, a friend of Mizuhara and also a dear colleague of Dr. Baelz, a German doctor who has studied the benefits on health of Kusatsu's hot spring water. Kusatsu, Japan, November 2006.
